Last updated: 31 July 2026

1. Purpose

This PAIA Manual is published in accordance with the Promotion of Access to Information Act, 2000 (PAIA) and, where relevant, POPIA. It describes how to request access to records held by SyrkIT for South African access-to-information purposes. It supplements, and does not limit, any separate rights that may exist under other applicable law.

2. Company Details

3. Information Officer

For PAIA and POPIA enquiries, contact the Information Officer at info@syrkit.net.

4. Records Automatically Available

Some information may be available without a formal PAIA request (for example public website content and published policies). Client-specific records are not automatically available.

5. Records We Hold

Depending on the nature of services provided, SyrkIT may hold records such as:

  • Client and supplier contracts and communications.
  • Billing and accounting records.
  • Support tickets and service logs.
  • Technical records required to provide hosting/email/support services.
  • Compliance and governance documentation.

6. Grounds for Refusal

Access may be refused on grounds permitted by PAIA, including to protect personal information, commercial confidentiality, security, legal privilege, or where disclosure is prohibited or would cause harm as contemplated by PAIA.

7. How to Request Access

  1. Email your request to info@syrkit.net and describe the records requested as clearly as possible.
  2. Provide enough information to identify the requester and locate the records.
  3. We may require proof of identity/authority and may ask for clarification before processing.

8. Fees

Where PAIA permits, fees may be charged for search, preparation, reproduction, and delivery/postage. Any applicable fees will be communicated before processing continues.

9. POPIA Note

Where a request contains personal information, SyrkIT will process and respond in a manner consistent with POPIA and lawful limitations.
